Tucked beneath towering evergreens, Under the Pines was designed as both a short- and long-term rental...and a place of refuge. The homeowners envisioned a space that could serve as a welcoming retreat for extended family and as a ministry offering safe, comfortable housing for those in transitioning seasons.

We completely reimagined the basement layout, transforming it into a fully functioning apartment that sleeps up to four. The space includes a full kitchen, dining area, living room, and a dual-desk office nook, along with two inviting bedrooms that balance privacy and warmth.

Every design decision centered around comfort and calm. A natural color palette, rattan textures, and organic greens create a sense of peace and belonging — a cozy haven designed to restore both body and spirit.
